  1. The Great Barrier Reef

    The Great Barrier Reef is the world's largest coral reef system, composed of roughly 3,000 individual reefs and 900 islands stretching for 2,600 kilometres over an area of approximately 344,400 square kilometres.

    Come face to face with a variety of tropical fish, turtles, coral and many other colourful species during your trip to the Great Barrier Reef. Choose to snorkel, dive, or take a trip on a glass bottom boat. There are many options available, ranging from those for experienced divers (and even those wishing to learn) to those wishing to see the reef but stay dry!

    The Reef Fleet Terminal, departure point for Great Barrier Reef and Island trips from the Cairns waterfront is just two blocks from The Sebel Cairns. Trips depart daily.   2. Skyrail Rainforest Cableway

    Skyrail Rainforest Cableway is the World's Most Beautiful Rainforest Experience and a must-do attraction in Tropical North Queensland.

    This iconic experience takes you over, through and into the heart of the ancient Wet Tropics World Heritage listed rainforests, in the Barron Gorge National Park, just 15-minutes drive north from Cairns.

     The 7.5km cableway provides panoramic views of the rainforest, tropical Cairns and Coral Sea while two mid-stations allow you to explore and learn more on the forest floor.

    Winner of the 2008 Qantas Australian Trouism Award for Excellence in Sustainable Tourism, Skyrail is a family-friendly way to visit the World Heritage Rainforest and Kuranda. 

  3. Rafts, rivers and rainforest

    Aventures and adrenaline! With an abundance of natural waterways flowing through stunning rainforests, there are plenty of places to choose from when going white water rafting. Local operators, including Foaming Fury, R N' R and Raging Thunder are experts in the local waterways and can show you an exciting time, whilst experiencing the beauty of the Tropical North.

  4. Cape York Adventuring

    Cairns is the gateway to a wider regions, such as the Atherton Tablelands, Daintree Rainforrest, and the Gulf Savannah. Day trips to these incredible areas are available, either self-drive or with knowledgeable tour operators who can collect you from the hotel.

    If you're on a culinary journey, Cairns, Palm Cove and Port Douglas have many restaurants to entice the fussiest foodie.

    Right here in The Sebel Cairns is Coco's Restaurant - famous for its Seafood Dinner Buffet, Sunday Brunch (complete with seafood, and cocktails!) and lovely High Tea. 

    The nearby Pier area is full of excellent bars and restaurants and the area under Cairns Harbour Lights is full of the city's best new restaurants.
