    What is NABERS?

     

    NABERS - the National Australian Built Environment Rating System - is a performance-based rating system for existing buildings.

    The suite of NABERS rating tools rate a building on the basis of its measured operational impacts on the environment, providing a simple indication of how well these environmental impacts are managed compared with other similar buildings.

    NABERS Hotel measures the energy or water consumption of a hotel on a scale of one to five stars, reflecting the performance of the building relative to the market, from least efficient (one star) to best practice (five stars). Two and a half stars is the current market average.
